Joining the Jazz 91 team is the internationally acclaimed vocalist and radio broadcaster, Maria Marquez. Who is Maria? She was born in Caracas, Venezuela and is a graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music. She started producing Jazz radio in Venezuela where she hosted radio shows and worked as the program manager for the first jazz radio station in Caracas. Locally, she has produced music shows for KRCB (Rohnert Park) and KWMR (Point Reyes).

"I want to give listeners a fun, varied, and a mood setting experience when listening to my program, which includes all styles of music," writes Maria. "Radio and especially music shows have always been a fascination of mine. I am excited to bring Desde La Bahia, which means From the Bay, to KCSM. The program celebrates and showcases music from all over the world. The power of music has always been a fascination of mine and I continue to be enriched by it.
