Join host Allan Berland, in the Jazz Lounge for presentation of pianist Bill Evans. On a Sunday afternoon at the Village Vanguard in New York City, in June of 1961, a small Ampex tape recorder captured one of the finest performances of Bill Evans with his newly formed trio consisting of Paul Motian on drums and a very young bassist, Scott La Faro. It’s one of the most important jazz recordings ever made.
