Owen Christopher Hinds

Owen Christopher Hinds.

Owen shares some of the work done by Pathways to Education, a program that works with lower-income communities to address high school dropout rates and provide comprehensive support to students. He shares success stories of students who have overcome challenges and achieved their goals with the help of Pathways, and discusses some of the key strategies implemented by Pathways: include engaging parents and the community, adapting to individual needs, and celebrating collective achievements.

● Pathways to Education aims to change the narratives around individuals and communities, especially those affected by generational poverty.

● The Pathways program is based on four pillars: academic support, social support, financial support, and one-to-one mentoring.

● The program serves about 8,500 students across Canada, providing high-touch support and journeying with them throughout high school.

● Asking for help and seeking human connection are important for empowerment and making a difference. Owen calls on people to serve others and achieve personal greatness through compassion.
