Chuck Bennett (2010) | |
---|---|
![]() | Though born in Santa Monica, Chuck Bennett has been a resident of the San Francisco Bay Area for some four decades. He has a penchant for the low instruments, the double bass and, particularly, the bass trombone.
In high school he converted from "regular" (tenor) trombone to bass trombone, an instrument on which he has performed or toured or both with the likes of Louie Bellson, The Beach Boys, Maynard Ferguson, Tom Scott, and Art Pepper. While in the Los Angeles area, he beefed up his resumé with music for film, commercials, live theater and also live radio. You can hear him all over the Bay Area in small groups (often playing string bass again), at casuals, and with the—once and, it is to be hoped, future—Contemporary Jazz Orchestra. |
