    Visit Website

Born in Barcelona, Spain, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Andrea Motis may be barely into her twenties, but she's been on the bandstand for a third of her life, since she was barely into her teens.

Andrea has recorded half a dozen albums with bassist and reed-player Joan Chamorro, and now has her own debut on Impulse Records, "Emotional Dance".

Andrea began playing trumpet at age seven, and three years later was studying at Barcelona's Escola Municipal de Musica de Sant Andreu, ulitimately becoming the the school's lead trumpeter. While with that school jazz band, Andrea got to rub shoulders with the likes of Wycliffe Gordon, Jesse Davis and Dick Oatts, among others.

Andrea is a delightful singer, and doubles on alto saxophone, too.
