Fred Berry (2001)
Director Fred Berry is a Lecturer in Jazz Studies at Stanford University. Mr. Berry has also been Director of the Jazz Program at the College of San Mateo for the past twenty years. He holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Music from Southern Illinois University and later did additional graduate work at Stanford.
A frequent performer on trumpet in professional Bay Area jazz ensembles, Mr. Berry has performed with Count Basie, McCoy Tyner, Benny Carter, Joe Henderson, Dizzy Gillespie, Lou Rawls, Lionel Hampton and many others.
