Pianist, composer and teacher Alex Condé is a rising star in jazz. A Spaniard by birth, he was weaned on flamenco: his father, Alejandro, is a famous singer, and just about everyone in the family plays or sings or both in that tradition.

In 2007, Alex followed his dream by enrolling at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. He was awarded a scholarship, graduating Cum Laude in Jazz Performance in 2009, and was awarded the Jazz Revelation award that same year. Then, having had enough of snow, even after only two years, he was drawn to the Bay Area, which, according to Alex, has the climate most like that of Spain.

He's completely immersed in the musical fusion of classical, flamenco and jazz. His debut recording, on Zoho Records, arrived just a month ago: it's a very special program of Thelonious Monk music.
