Leslie Stoval (2016)
Born in Worthington, a northern suburb of Columbus, Ohio, Leslie Stoval used to escape her self-admittedly "square" early life by listening to the radio. She tuned in to WLS in Chicago, WABC in New York, and CKLW in Windsor, Ontario (across the river from Detroit). Early on, she knew that she wanted to be part of radio.

While studying at Stanford at Stanford University in the 1970s (where she also played basketball), Leslie announced news at KZSU. After graduating with a degree in communications, she soon had her first professional radio gig, back home in Columbus at WVKO, hosting a popular jazz fusion show overnight.

Six months later, Leslie was back in the Bay Area with KRE. KRE became KBLX, and Leslie had the perfect voice for that Quiet Storm. She also helped introduce cross-over radio at KMEL.

Away from KCSM and her other radio gigs, Leslie is currently active in the app world, working with artists to develop dedicated streaming channels, ultimately with videos and other items unavailable elsewhere, and to enable those artists to get paid directly and reliably.
