Bassist, singer and composer Dan Montgomery hails from Rochester, New York. Rather than attend the local Eastman School, part of Rochester University, he got his B.A. in music and jazz bass performance at the Frost School at Miami, Florida (at the moment, he makes Miami his home), graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2015.

Since then Dan has been very busy. For example, he placed third in the International Society of Bassists Competition in June 2017. He has performed with The New York Voices, Shelly Berg, Rosanna Vitro, The Costa Rica National Symphony, Martin Bejerano, Nomar & Jose Negroni, and many others. He's done a lot on the festival circuit, too, including the Telluride and the Monterey Jazz Festivals, and the Tonica Jazz Festival in Guadalajara, Mexico. Further, he was recognized by Down Beat for an “Outstanding Graduate Composition”.

Giving back to education, Dan is currently the bass professor at the Community Arts music program for kids K-12 in Miami.

Dan has just released his debut album “Storyteller”.
