Multi-reed player Anat Cohen was born into a musical family in Tel Aviv. After her mandatory military service, during which she played tenor saxophone in the Israeli Air Force Band, she came to the United States to study at Berklee College of Music in Boston.

There, Anat gravitated to other students who hailed from South America—particularly Brazil, Argentina and Columbia—and developed a deep love of and facility in many styles of music.

Anat was a touring member of Sheri Maricle's Diva orchestra for about a decade.

Anat co-founded the Anzic record label in 2005, kicking it off with her own first release, "Place and Time". She's recorded several acclaimed albums as part of The Three Cohens with her older brother Yuval and younger brother Avishai—they appeared on the cover of Down Beat in 2012.

Anat often performs with one of her heroes, Paquito D'Rivera, who introduced her on stage at Dizzy's Club Coca Cola as "one of the greatest players ever on the clarinet."
