| Lorca Hart (2012) | |
|---|---|
| Drummer Lorca Hart grew up in a musical family in Taos, New Mexico, and the drumset became his passion early on.
In high school, Lorca started to perform and to focus on jazz. He went on to the California Institute of the Arts from 1992 through 1996, studying with the likes of Tootie Heath, Joe LaBarbera and Charlie Haden. Since then, Lorca has performed with many of the West Coast's premiere players, including Ralph Moore, Carmen Lundy, Freddie Hubbard, Stanley Jordan, Craig Handy, and the Clayton Brothers. Lorca now leads his own very creative trio with pianist Josh Nelson and bassist Ed Livingston. Lorca taught at Mount San Antonio College in Walnut, California, and now teaches at both Healdsburg High and Junior High in Sonoma County. |
