|---|---|
| It's been a long journey in relatively few years for trumpeter Ingrid Jensen. Born and raised in British Columbia, Canada, Ingrid studied at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, played in the subways of New York City after graduating, and has since established herself as a leader and soloist in a wide array of musical genres. She was recently featured on "Gil Evans's 'Porgy and Bess'" (part of SF Jazz), under the direction of Maria Schneider, in whose orchestra Ingrid appears. She was also a guest in the festival's "Tribute to Woody Shaw and Freddie Hubbard", alongside Terence Blanchard, Eddie Henderson, Bobby Hutcherson and Kenny Garrett. |
