mulgrew miller live at yoshis v2Mulgrew Miller is considered one of the most recorded jazz pianists. He has played with Art Blakey, Duke Ellington Orchestra, Betty Carter, Bobby Hutcherson and many, many others. Mulgrew has been on over 500 recordings. Mulgrew started playing in the 60s at the age of 8. He decided to become a jazz piano player after seeing Oscar Peterson play on the Joey Bishop show on TV. Today he is considered one of the top jazz piano players. He currently plays with his trio, Derrick Hodge on bass and Karriem Riggins on drums. Mulgrew was one of the features pianists at the Kind of Blue and Giant Steps 50th anniversary concert at Lincoln Center in 2009.
